When I was in the midst of my eating disorder, I needed structure. Not too much where I was controlling every outcome, but just enough that I was guided to choose choice A, B, or C. At the time, "intuitive eating" just wasn't happening.
You don't need to be in the same place as I was to want to change your habits. With any great change, some structure to solidify the habit is key, while also allowing life to flow within that structure. Like water flowing within its container.
